Christian Rizzo and a schmorgesborg of cheese!

After reaching the hostel and taking a quick rest the students were off again and on their first adventure.

The first performance on our schedule was Based on a True Story by Christian Rizzo. The conception, choreography, scenography and costumes were created by Rizzo and performed by eight male dancers. Rizzo included two live drummers on stage that kept a sort of heart beat for the piece. The minimalistic rhythm that was kept by each drummer was reminiscent of tribal music. The dancers, two veteran Rizzo performers and six new men, repeated similar movements that ultimately formed a communal structure of synchronization and breath. The piece came to a close as a satisfying image in our minds. It was a pleasure to see this performance. Here is a link to more info about the performance and CHristian Rizzo! After the show the students dined at an amazing restaurant known for their decadent cheeses. After a long day the students were exhausted but excited for what was to come!
